The Belfast-based hip-hop trio Kneecap - consisting of Mo Chara, Moglaí Bap and DJ Provaí - have found themselves in the news in 2024 following the news that the UK government had blocked a grant from the Music Export Growth Scheme. Their irreverent, barbed second studio album Fine Art, produced by Toddla T, filled with Irish and English lyrics and themed around the goings-on in an imaginary West Belfast pub called The Rutz, demonstrates why the band’s artistry has gotten up the noses of closed minded censors.
