Embarking on a bold new chapter, The Brian Jonestown Massacre unveils their 19th full-length studio album, "Fire Doesn't Grow On Trees," recorded in Berlin and remotely throughout 2020 and 2021. Spearheaded by Anton Newcombe, the album marks an exciting evolution for the band. In the studio and contributing remotely, the ensemble includes Ricky Maymi (guitars), Ryan Carlson Van Kriedt (keyboards), Hakon Adalsteinsson (guitar), Hallberg Daði Hallbergsson (bass), and Uri Rennert (drums). Initially influenced by The Rolling Stones' psychedelic era, with the moniker derived from Stones guitarist Brian Jones and a nod to cult leader Jim Jones, Newcombe's 2000s work expands into the aesthetic realms reminiscent of the UK Shoegazing genre from the 1990s, incorporating diverse influences from world music, notably Middle Eastern and Brazilian sounds.
